TWC #15 - Elana Meta
TWC #14 - Scott Andrade from the Ventura Float Center
Elana Meta is a dancer, teacher, choreographer and so much more. I came to know her at Wanderlust Whistler after watching her perform and attending her Breaking WaVes class. She is a beautiful mover, a beautiful person, and creator of the Meta Method, a way for people to connect with their bodies and create the time and space for personal growth. The Meta Methods provides a framework to find your path and access your true potential.
In this episode, Elana shares her story and how she came to connect her dance and movement with a larger message. We talk about self-work, developing a personal practice to insert some mindfulness and "response-ability" into your actions, and much more.
This was a truly special conversation. She exudes so much conviction in her message and her path. Her commitment to truly live it inspires. I invite you to listen and share in our conversation. Enjoy.
TWC #13 - Helya Naghibi from The Studio
Scott Andrade is the owner of the Ventura Float Center and an all-around amazing and interesting guy. We discuss his 10-week-old business at the float center, float tank background, and many of the benefits that they can bring to your spiritual, mental, and physical well-being. We also stray into many other fun and interesting topics such as: social media, what we can learn from animals, young children, and everyone around us, as well as Scott personal story that has led to where he is today.
TWC #12 - Mike Done
Helya is an old friend and new business owner. She owns an incredible gym in Ventura, CA called The Studio. She also hosts a podcast called Fit Dirty Thirty that is a great source of information and motivation for anyone at any step of their personal health and fitness journey.
Hear Helya and I talk fitness, food, and community. We share a very similar fitness philosophy and commitment to bringing our fun and approachable style to everyone that we coach. Enjoy
TWC #11 - Krystal Pearson of Blue Jasmin Acupuncture
The guest of this episode is Mike Done. For most of his life Mike did not lead a very healthy lifestyle but has completely turned his life around in the last few years. He shares his wisdom and insights from this journey as well as some sage words about how to approach making healthy lifestyle changes. I encourage anyone that has or is currently struggling with implementing some health changes to listen to this episode.
TWC #10 - Pixie Kastrup
The guest of this episode is Krystal Pearson. Krystal is an acupuncturist and herbalist (operating her own practice called Blue Jasmin Acupuncture) and a kundalini yoga teacher. She has a wonderful story to tell about her own health and spiritual journey and where she wants it take her next. She also shares some amazing insight and wisdom gained from her own acupuncture, yoga, and meditative practices.
TWC #9 - Mobility Talk with Patrick O'Hea
The guest of this episode is Pixie Kastrup. She is yoga teacher in the Ventura and Santa Barbara area and the person who helped me to realize what a powerful tool yoga can be. She has a very interesting background and a unique and inspiring outlook on life.
TWC #8 - Slow Flow Yoga with Pixie Kastrup
Patrick is a local physical therapist and very knowledgeable about all things mobility and corrective movement. I first met him through C Street CrossFit where I coach and he teaches a mobility class twice each month. He is very passionate about what he does and I very much enjoyed sitting down to speak with him. I hope that you all enjoy listening to this episode as much as I enjoyed making it.
TWC#7 - Travel Stories with Adam Mulligan
This episode is a cool way for me to help Pixie out. Her mother wanted a recording of her "Slow Flow" class for when she is out of town. Pixie asked to borrow my digital recorder to record the class for her mom. We decided that posting it as a podcast would be a very mutually beneficial idea. She can now point her students to a free recording of one of her classes and this show will benefit from the broadened listener-ship. This episode will also serve a neat preview for her appearance on the show.
TWC #6 - Stay The Course
This was my favorite podcast thus far. I had the chance to sit down with an old buddy to discuss some of his recent adventures and projects. Adam saw some of my podcast and website posts on Facebook and approached me about making some video content for the website. We spent several hours filming an interview about my travel plans and my motivation and aims for the podcast, blog, and website. Be on the lookout for the that video coming in the near future.
TWC #5 - Rebirth of the Podcast
Why is it so difficult to make lasting healthy lifestyle changes? Many of us know what needs to change but struggle with the how. How to make them stick and last. In this episode I outline some methods that work for me to sticking with a change.
The Wandering Coach #2 - About Me
I've decided that this podcast will take a bit of a different direction. In making the first several episodes I've come to a new understanding of what I want this podcast to become. I enjoyed the structure and flow of the shorter, solo episodes. This podcast will become a mostly solo venture upon my world travel embarkation, so why not start now? Give this episode a listen and see what the future holds for The Wandering Coach Podcast.
